Original: Resilience Starts at Home – Capacities for Urban Transformation
The United Nations University is drawing attention to the role of households and local communities in building urban resilience, arguing that transformative capacity in cities begins at home. The piece, part of its work on urban transformation, stresses that preparing cities for shocks depends on the capacities of residents and neighbourhoods as much as on municipal institutions.
Why now: The United Nations University has published new work framing urban resilience as something that starts in the home.
