Sister tells pope 'Amoris Laetitia' consistent with Church teaching
Original: ‘Amoris Laetitia’ is consistent with Church teaching, sister tells pope and bishops
A religious sister has told Pope Francis and bishops that the apostolic exhortation 'Amoris Laetitia' is consistent with Catholic Church teaching, according to EWTN News. The document, on family life and pastoral care, has long been debated within the Church, particularly over questions of admitting divorced and remarried Catholics to Communion, making defenses of its doctrinal orthodoxy notable.
Why now: 'Amoris Laetitia' remains a contested document among Catholics, so a public defense of its orthodoxy before the pope draws attention.
