OpenDrone project aims to open-source every drone component
Original: His audacious plan to open-source EVERY PART of a drone // OPENDRONE
A project called OpenDrone is working to make every part of a drone open source, from hardware to software. FPV drone reviewer Joshua Bardwell has highlighted the effort, drawing tens of thousands of engagements. Supporters see it as a way to free drone development from proprietary vendors, while the scale of making an entire drone fully open remains the big question.
Why now: The drone and open-source hardware communities are excited by the ambition of fully open-sourcing an entire drone.
