Ken Paxton draws attention with Senate campaign remarks
Original: Ken Paxton's Senate campaign remarks
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is making comments on the campaign trail as he challenges Senator John Cornyn for the Republican US Senate nomination in Texas. The remarks are fueling debate among conservatives and party insiders over whether Paxton's hard-right profile and legal controversies make him a stronger or riskier candidate than the incumbent.
Why now: Paxton's primary challenge against Cornyn is a closely watched fight for control of the Republican Party in Texas.
