Lutheran Synod Hosts Sessions on Church Teaching on Sexuality
Original: Learn and Discern: Understanding Our Church’s Teaching on Sexuality
The Grand Canyon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is running 'Learn and Discern', an educational initiative on the denomination's teaching on sexuality. The sessions aim to help members understand church positions on a subject that continues to divide mainline Protestant bodies, as congregations across the ELCA debate how scripture, tradition and modern views on sexuality should shape policy and pastoral practice.
Why now: Mainline Protestant denominations are actively debating sexuality and church teaching, making such educational efforts a point of discussion among members.
