Australia lean on familiar formula in South Africa Test series
Original: Australia to rely on familiar formula in South Africa as they seek to bury demons of 2018 | Geoff Lemon
Australia head to South Africa for a cricket Test series with an unchanged, familiar line-up, as the team looks to move past the memories of the 2018 ball-tampering scandal that marred their previous tour there. Writing in the Guardian, Geoff Lemon argues the side will stick with a proven formula rather than experiment, with the tour carrying extra emotional weight given the 'Sandpapergate' fallout still lingers between the two cricketing rivals.
Why now: The tour revisits the 2018 ball-tampering scandal, making Australia's return to South Africa emotionally charged and newsworthy.
