The 1942 horror classic Cat People is being discussed online, with one film noir poster enthusiast mocking the movie's promotional artwork for depicting a strangely unrealistic feline. The post compares the poster's cat to medieval drawings of giraffes made by artists who had only heard of the animal rather than seen one, joking that the poster artist apparently never encountered a real cat.

Why now: A widely shared joke about the film's inaccurately drawn cat poster is amusing classic film fans.
