Modder runs Super Mario Bros. off a VHS tape
Original: Modder gets Super Mario Bros. and other games running on VHS tape
A hardware modder has managed to get Super Mario Bros. and other games running from a VHS tape, according to GoNintendo. The project stores game data on the old analog cassette format and loads it into a console, turning obsolete home video tech into an unlikely game medium.
Why now: The novelty of retro gaming hardware hacks routinely draws wide interest, and combining NES games with obsolete VHS technology is an unusual technical feat.
