Nakagawa Shoko says her oshi are her own twin kids

Original: 推し活

In Japan, 'oshi-katsu' — the culture of passionately supporting a favourite idol, character or celebrity — is a hot topic, with mainstream outlets now applying the fan term to everyday life. Singer and TV personality Nakagawa Shoko joked in an interview with Fukui Shimbun that the 'oshi' she most wants to summon are her twin children, admitting she could never bear to watch them fight each other.

Why now: The fan-culture term 'oshi-katsu' is trending in Japanese searches, and celebrity anecdotes like Nakagawa's keep it in the conversation.
