Machado denied game-tying homer in déjà vu moment
Original: Machado robbed of game-tying homer in cruel bit of déja vú
Manny Machado was robbed of a game-tying home run in what MLB.com describes as a cruel case of déjà vu, meaning a defensive play erased a potential equalizer in much the same way it has happened to him before. Details of the teams, inning and opposing fielder were not provided, but the play is being framed as a striking repeat of a previous heartbreak for the star third baseman.
Why now: A spectacular defensive play denied a star player a game-tying homer in circumstances mirroring a previous incident, making it instant viral sports talk.
