José Elías says the countryside is a medal, not a sentence
Original: jose elias
Spanish entrepreneur José Elías is drawing attention with comments on rural Spain, saying "the countryside is not a sentence, it is a medal if we stop kneeling in the mud." His remarks frame rural areas as an opportunity rather than a burden, striking a chord in ongoing Spanish debates about depopulation, farming and the future of the rural economy.
Why now: His outspoken defence of rural Spain comes amid continuing public debate about rural depopulation and the countryside's role in the economy
