Yankees fan mocked for celebrating ball that wasn't a home run
Original: As a # RedSox fan I take grim satisfaction from that # Yankees fan jumping up and down, cheering, holding up that not-ho
A Yankees fan at a game was caught on camera jumping up and down and celebrating while holding up a ball, apparently unaware it had not cleared the fence for a home run. Baseball fans, including Boston Red Sox supporters, compared the moment to Steve Bartman's infamous interference during the 2003 Cubs playoff collapse, taking pleasure in the fan's public mistake.
Why now: Rival fans found the blunder funny, especially Red Sox supporters enjoying a Yankees fan's embarrassment on live TV.
