Sacred items removed from St. Stephen Church ahead of demolition
Original: Sacred items from St. Stephen Church are being relocated ahead of demolition
Sacred items from St. Stephen Church are being relocated as the building prepares for demolition. The move follows standard Catholic practice of preserving religious objects such as altars, statues and vessels when a church is deconsecrated and closed. Details about the parish community's response and plans for the site have not yet been made public.
Why now: Local interest in the closure of a long-standing parish church and where its sacred objects will go
