Formula 1 officials have declared a heat hazard for the fourth time this season, triggering protocols that allow drivers more time to prepare and manage extreme cockpit temperatures. The rule, introduced after drivers struggled in sweltering conditions, lets teams fit cooling equipment. With several hot-weather races this calendar, the repeated declarations have renewed discussion about driver safety in rising temperatures.

Why now: Extreme heat at a grand prix weekend has again triggered the sport's heat hazard protocol, putting driver welfare in the spotlight.
