Original: Samara oil pipeline hub is on fire in russia. Notice how it’s not an apartment building, kindergarten, school, or hospit

An oil pipeline hub in Samara, Russia, is on fire, according to widely shared reports. Commenters contrast the strike with Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilians, arguing the target is military-economic infrastructure meant to limit Russia's war effort rather than harm residents. The cause of the blaze and any damage assessment have not been independently confirmed.

Why now: A major Russian oil infrastructure facility is reportedly ablaze, feeding debate over strikes aimed at weakening Russia's war economy.
