Trump seeks to convert Florida golf club into Camp David-style retreat
Original: Trump wants to turn one of his Florida golf clubs into a Camp David-style retreat
President Trump wants to turn one of his Florida golf clubs into a presidential retreat similar to Camp David, the mountain getaway used by US leaders for decades. The proposal, reported by NPR, would create a Florida alternative for hosting officials and foreign leaders, and it is drawing attention because of questions about mixing the presidency with his private business interests.
Why now: The reported plan raises fresh conflict-of-interest questions around Trump's private properties while he holds office.
