Greece warns Britain over Parthenon Marbles and Brexit talks

Original: Il Fatto Quotidiano: “Londra ci restituisca subito i marmi del Partenone, altrimenti blocchiamo i negoziati sulla Brexit

Greek officials are demanding that Britain immediately return the Parthenon Marbles, currently held by the British Museum in London, warning that otherwise Athens could block negotiations linked to Brexit. The ultimatum was reported by the Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano, which noted that the halls of the New Acropolis Museum in Athens have stood ready for the sculptures for fifteen years.

Why now: The long-running dispute over the Parthenon Marbles is being tied directly to ongoing Brexit negotiations, giving it fresh urgency.
