The websites of several local courts (Amtsgerichte) in North Rhine-Westphalia have been unreachable for days, prompting questions about whether the state justice system's IT infrastructure has been hacked. Users are voicing frustration that the judicial administration has apparently not restored access or communicated clearly about the cause of the outage.
Why now: Ongoing multi-day outage of court websites is raising concerns about a possible cyberattack on the NRW justice system's poorly secured IT.
