Television comedy writer Tom Gammill, known for his work on 'Seinfeld' and 'The Simpsons', has spoken admiringly of 'Nancy', the classic comic strip created by Ernie Bushmiller. He argues the strip holds a genius of its own despite its reputation for simplicity, drawing attention to Bushmiller's gag construction and visual craft. Comedy fans are weighing his comparison between sitcom writing and daily strip humor.
Why now: A well-known comedy writer publicly championing an often-mocked vintage comic strip has sparked discussion about its artistic merit.
