Ukraine's farm sector urges EU to focus on details in membership talks
Original: 📰 Ukrainian agriculture urges EU to talk details, not panic, in future membership negotiations 🔗 https:// kyivindependen
Ukrainian agricultural representatives are urging the European Union to approach future membership negotiations with detailed, practical discussion rather than alarm over the impact of Ukrainian farm exports. The sector says talks should concentrate on specific terms and adjustments instead of panic-driven restrictions, as Ukraine's EU accession process moves forward amid tensions with farmers in several member states.
Why now: Ukraine's EU accession negotiations and worries about agricultural competition are currently a live political issue in Europe.
