Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has topped both of his immediate predecessors in foreign travel spending and the number of trips abroad within just four years in office, according to Rappler's review of official data and documents. The report is drawing attention to the cost of the president's frequent diplomatic trips and questions about what the travel has delivered for the country.
Why now: New data showing the Philippine president's foreign travel spending exceeding that of two prior administrations is prompting debate over the value of his frequent trips abroad.
