Climate emergency briefing leaves Britons feeling misled and motivated
Original: Britons kept in dark about scale of climate crisis, say viewers of ‘first-of-its-kind’ emergency briefing
A 'first-of-its-kind' climate emergency briefing shown to British audiences has prompted viewers to say they had been kept in the dark about the true scale of the crisis. According to a Guardian report, the film outlined threats to food security, the economy and public health, and nine out of 10 viewers said they felt motivated to act after watching it.
Why now: The briefing's striking finding that most viewers felt previously uninformed is sparking debate about media coverage of climate change.
