A walker has shared photos from the approach to the Iron Gates, the narrowest and most famous point of the Samariá Gorge hike on Crete. The 'gates' are not made of iron but form a passage only four metres wide, squeezed between cliffs rising roughly 300 metres on either side. The gorge is one of Greece's best-known walking routes, and the dramatic photographs are drawing appreciation from outdoor enthusiasts.
