Astronomers have detected a mysterious burst of energy, apparently a fast radio burst, originating from a distant galaxy. The finding, reported by the Guardian, involves observations connected to Australia and the James Webb Space Telescope. Fast radio bursts are millisecond-long flashes of radio waves whose origins remain poorly understood, making each new detection significant for researchers trying to explain what causes them.
Why now: New detection of an unexplained fast radio burst is drawing attention from space and science enthusiasts
