Opponents of Donald Trump are spreading hashtags calling him a liar and a conman, alleging corruption and warning that American democracy is facing a constitutional crisis. The posts attack the president directly and frame the current political moment as the death of democracy in the United States. No specific new allegation is attached to the claims, which reflect a sharply critical mood among his online detractors.
Why now: Critics are reacting to recent actions or statements by Donald Trump that they view as corrupt and undemocratic.
