Taiwan is offering payments to tourists who visit the country, a scheme reported by Fodor's and circulated in travel and personal finance circles. The incentive programme is aimed at luring visitors back as the island works to rebuild its tourism industry, with money commentators highlighting it as a way to offset travel costs.
Why now: Travellers and budget-conscious readers are interested in destinations that will pay them to visit as tourism recovers.
