The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is reportedly testing an AirDrop-style file sharing feature in HyperOS 4, allowing direct transfers with iPhone, iPad and Mac. The feature, referred to as SmartShare, would mark a rare step toward native cross-platform compatibility between an Android device and Apple's ecosystem.
Why now: Direct file transfer between Xiaomi and Apple devices would be an unusual break in Apple's closed ecosystem, drawing attention from tech users.
