Gardeners are sharing the last colourful stretch of the growing season, noting that zinnias and marigolds are still flowering even as the gardening year winds down. The observation has struck a chord with flower lovers posting their own end-of-season blooms and swapping notes on which hardy annuals keep going longest.
Why now: It is the time of year when gardeners compare notes on which flowers are still thriving as autumn approaches.
