Original: 村尾三四郎

Japanese judoka Sanshiro Murao won back-to-back gold medals in the men's 90kg division at the World Judo Championships in Baku, defeating compatriot Takeki Tajima in the final. Murao, who beat Georgia's Lasha Bekauri by ippon earlier in the tournament, said he wanted to show a performance that would make people think he is strong. Siho Tanaka was eliminated in her category.

Why now: Murao has just retained his world title with a victory over a fellow Japanese in the final, drawing wide attention in Japan.
