Grizzlies beat Clippers but eliminated from NBA Cup
Original: Grizzlies eliminated from NBA Cup despite riding strong second half to 112-107 win over Clippers
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 112-107, fueled by a strong second half, but the win was not enough to keep them alive in the NBA Cup. Tiebreaker scenarios meant Memphis was eliminated from the in-season tournament despite finishing group play with a victory. The result leaves the Grizzlies to focus on the regular season while the Clippers close out their own Cup campaign.
Why now: The paradox of winning the game yet being eliminated from the NBA Cup made the result notable to basketball fans.
