Italy's parliament has approved a set of electoral changes that have drawn criticism, according to a report by Bulgarian news agency BGNES. The legislation, described as contested, passed both chambers, though details of the specific reforms and the margin of approval are not given. Opponents are expected to challenge the changes, and the move has sparked debate over Italy's voting rules.
Why now: Parliamentary approval of disputed electoral reforms is politically sensitive and fuels debate over Italy's voting system.
