Low Water Levels Force River Cruise Passengers onto Buses
Original: river cruise
Travelers who paid thousands of dollars for European river cruises are spending their vacations on coaches instead. TUI River Cruises has replaced some Danube sailings with bus trips as falling water levels make parts of the river impassable. People.com reported on passengers frustrated at paying premium prices only to tour by road, and the story is drawing attention in Canada and Australia.
Why now: Falling Danube water levels are disrupting booked river cruises, frustrating travelers who paid for sailings and received coach tours instead.
