Original: The # Israel Defense Forces announce that they have killed Muhammad Muhsen Nimr Yazji, a Hamas militant who took part in
The Israel Defense Forces announced they killed Muhammad Muhsen Nimr Yazji, described as a Hamas militant who took part in holding hostages Emily Damari, Romi Gonen, and Matan Angrest, in an airstrike in Gaza City. The announcement draws attention because the three hostages were among those seized during the October 7, 2023 attack and later released, keeping focus on Israel's ongoing campaign against those involved in their captivity.
Why now: The Israeli military rarely names individual militants tied to specific released hostages, making the announcement notable amid the continuing Gaza war.
