Webb Measures Distance to Farthest Fast Radio Burst

Original: Webb Measures Distance to Farthest Fast Radio Burst, Suggesting Origin https://science.nasa.gov/missions/webb/webb-measu

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has measured the distance to the farthest fast radio burst ever detected, offering new clues about the mysterious explosions' origin. Fast radio bursts are intense millisecond-long radio flashes from distant galaxies whose sources remain poorly understood. The finding helps pinpoint where the burst came from and could refine theories about what produces these cosmic signals.

Why now: The measurement marks a record-breaking detection and new insight into a major astronomical mystery.
