Christian Group Welcomes Renewed UN Mission Mandate in Sudan
Original: Christian Group Lauds Renewal of UN Mission in Sudan Amid Ongoing Conflict
A Christian organisation has praised the renewal of a United Nations mission mandate in Sudan, saying continued international presence is needed as fighting between the army and paramilitary forces persists across the country. The group urged UN actors to keep prioritising protection of civilians and humanitarian access, warning that churches and communities remain under severe strain from the conflict and displacement.
Why now: The UN mandate renewal comes at a moment of intensifying concern over civilian suffering in Sudan's war.
