Basketball fans are debating whether the NBA court dimensions should change to match the modern size of players. One proposal making the rounds suggests enlarging the court by 20-30% and raising the basket to 12 feet, comparing today's game to tennis players competing on a ping pong table.

Why now: Debate over whether NBA court and rim dimensions should adapt to increasingly tall, athletic players.

Evidence

• I feel like the basketball court needs to have grown to accommodate the size of the players. It’s like tennis players playing on a ping pong table. The entire court should be about 20-30% larger, and the basket should be 12’ high. # NBA · dtm@mastodon.cc · 2
