Iran's drones expose a key US military weakness
Original: Iran's drones hit America's Achilles heel
Iran's drone capabilities are being described as hitting America's 'Achilles heel', exposing a vulnerability in US military defences. The argument, reported by Politico, is that cheap, mass-produced drones present a challenge that expensive American air-defence systems are poorly positioned to counter, and the claim is drawing sharp, sarcastic reactions from commenters debating US readiness against drone swarms.
Why now: A new report argues Iranian drones exploit a serious gap in US air-defence capabilities, prompting debate.
