Iowa's Ferentz shrugs off West Coast travel concerns before Washington trip
Original: Kirk Ferentz and Co. dismiss past West Coast travel woes ahead of trip to Washington
Iowa Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz and his staff say past struggles on trips to the West Coast will not be a factor as the team prepares to face Washington. Ferentz dismissed the notion that long travel has hurt the program before, and the Hawkeyes are framing the cross-country game as a normal challenge rather than a hurdle.
Why now: Iowa's upcoming game at Washington has renewed attention on the program's historically poor results in West Coast road games.
