Ceasefire confusion deepens between Russia and Ukraine

Original: перемирие

Talks of a ceasefire are dividing the parties. President Zelensky said Kyiv was unaware of an energy ceasefire announced by Trump, while Moscow said it will not grant Ukraine a truce that would let it build up weapons. India has reportedly proposed a three-point ceasefire plan to Russia and Ukraine, adding a new mediation effort to the stalled negotiations.

Why now: Conflicting statements from Kyiv, Moscow and Washington about the terms and existence of a ceasefire are driving attention.
