Execution of psychiatrist who killed 13 colleagues to be broadcast live
Original: vuurpeloton
Dutch media report that the execution of an American psychiatrist convicted of murdering 13 colleagues will be broadcast live, an exceptional move for a US execution. Telegraaf coverage is drawing attention in the Netherlands, with readers debating whether such a broadcast should be allowed at all and what it says about the American justice system.
Why now: The prospect of a live-televised execution, a firing-squad case, is highly unusual and sparking debate.
