ICC plans major push to expand cricket in China
The International Cricket Council is preparing a major initiative to grow the sport in China, one of the largest untapped markets in world cricket. The plan signals the governing body's ambition to take the game beyond its traditional strongholds, though details of funding, timelines and grassroots programmes have not yet been made public.
Why now: The potential of expanding cricket into a market of over a billion people makes the governing body's plans newsworthy for fans and sports business observers.
