Gaurav Yadav appointed Punjab's regular police chief
Original: गौरव यादव
The Punjab government has issued a notification appointing Gaurav Yadav as the state's regular Director General of Police. The appointment follows the Union Public Service Commission sending his name to the state. Yadav had earlier served as acting DGP, and his formal elevation settles the question of who will lead Punjab police.
Why now: His appointment as Punjab's regular DGP was just notified by the state government after UPSC cleared his name.
