UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres declined to respond to a question about Kashmir during his visit to Pakistan, drawing sharp criticism. Retired Indian officer Major Gaurav Arya highlighted the moment, arguing the UN chief avoided the issue despite it being a long-standing international dispute. Indian commentators have seized on the exchange as evidence of bias, while Pakistani audiences frame the visit differently.
Why now: Guterres's apparent refusal to comment on Kashmir during a Pakistan visit is fuelling debate over the UN's stance on the India-Pakistan dispute.
