Original: steve buscemi
Steve Buscemi, the actor and former New York City firefighter, is being discussed for his return to FDNY service after the 11 September 2001 attacks. Having worked as a firefighter in the early 1980s, he rejoined his old firehouse and worked twelve-hour shifts among rescue crews at Ground Zero, refusing publicity at the time. The story is being recirculated as a tribute to his quiet service.
Why now: Renewed interest in Steve Buscemi's 9/11 firefighting service, likely around an anniversary or tribute coverage.
