Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes Set to Return to California
Original: souplantation
Buffet chain Souplantation, which also operated as Sweet Tomatoes, is preparing a comeback in California, according to a report by Patch. The chain closed all of its locations in 2020 after the pandemic made self-serve dining unworkable, and news of a return has prompted nostalgia from former customers and questions about whether the buffet model can survive.
Why now: Announcements that the beloved buffet chain, closed since 2020, is reopening in California have stirred nostalgia and curiosity among former customers.
