Flooding alerts from Bhutan to Italy and Vietnam
Original: inondazione
Flooding is dominating the conversation across several regions. In Bhutan, another Himalayan glacial lake burst, causing devastating floods. In Italy, a new weather alert was issued days after a violent rainstorm, with heavy rain knocking out radiotherapy equipment at a hospital and a court ruling ordering the local authority to compensate for May 2023 flood damage. In Vietnam, the army in Da Nang is on round-the-clock alert with amphibious vehicles ready to deploy.
Why now: Multiple severe flood events and new weather alerts are happening at the same time in different countries.
