Organic chia seeds recalled over pesticide residue levels

Original: chiazaad pesticiden

Organic sector organisation Bionederland has recalled organic chia seeds after tests showed pesticide residue levels above the legal limit. The recall affects products sold through organic channels, and consumers are advised not to eat the affected chia seeds. It adds to ongoing concerns in the Netherlands about pesticide residues in imported organic products.

Why now: A food safety recall always draws attention, especially when it involves products marketed as organic and pesticide-free.
