Legal arguments again delay Abby Choi murder trial
Original: Legal arguments delay trial over murder of Hong Kong socialite Abby Choi again
The trial over the murder of Hong Kong socialite Abby Choi has been postponed once more following fresh legal arguments, according to the South China Morning Post. The high-profile case has already been delayed several times as lawyers for the accused contest procedural and evidentiary matters. The case has drawn wide attention in Hong Kong and beyond since Choi's killing in 2023, and the repeated postponements continue to frustrate those awaiting a verdict.
Why now: Another delay in one of Hong Kong's most closely followed murder cases keeps public and media attention fixed on the proceedings.
