Porsche's Electric Sports Car Nears Launch With No BMW Rival

Original: Porsche’s Electric Sports Car Arrives Soon, But BMW Has No Rival

Porsche is preparing to launch its next electric sports car, a move that highlights a gap in BMW's line-up: the Munich automaker currently offers no direct electric rival in the sports car segment. Auto commentators note that while both brands are pushing electrification, Porsche is taking the lead in keeping the electric sports car niche alive.

Why now: Porsche's upcoming electric sports car launch is drawing attention because BMW has no competing model.
