Yandex Hit by Second Data Center Attack in 48 Hours
Original: Yandex Takes a Second Data Center Hit in 48 Hours
Yandex, which operates Russia's largest website and search engine, has reportedly suffered a second attack on its data center infrastructure within 48 hours, leaving services damaged. The report comes amid ongoing cyber and physical disruptions targeting Russian tech and communications infrastructure during the war in Ukraine. Observers are weighing the impact on Yandex's services and what the repeated strikes suggest about the vulnerability of Russia's key internet companies.
Why now: A major Russian internet company suffering repeated infrastructure attacks in quick seconds raises questions about who is behind it and how badly services are affected.
